Comprehensive Strategy for Anti-Amnesty Fight in July

IF YOU LIKE THIS POST FEEL FREE TO RE-POST IT, WITH OR WITHOUT ACCREDITATION. IF YOU WANT THE HTML, JUST EMAIL ME (glaivester at yahoo dot com).

If we want to defeat the amnesty bill that currently passed the Senate, and moreover to start moving the country in an immigration restrictionist direction, we need to have a good strategy to turn things against this bill, to defeat and destroy the bill, and to start a movement to push things in the other direction. Specific tactics will be added over the next day or so, in bold.

There are eight parts to a my proposed amnesty-defeating strategy. Parts 2 and 3 are particularly urgent and should be done before Wednesday for maximum effectiveness (Wednesday the House GOP is having a caucus to discuss immigration strategy). This will help to determine the tone of the debate over the course of the next month. That is not to say not to keep it up after Wednesday, we need to keep pounding the phone lines. Anything that involves calling legislators probably would be more effective if done before Wednesday as well. More of my specifically pre-caucus strategy is available in this post.

(1) We need to change the milieu. That means that the overall mood in the House has to be one of "amnesty is unpopular and the people are angry." Whatever procedural tricks we have to defend against (or use against the bill) and whatever specific people we have to target, the more that the pro-amnesty forces have to fight an uphill battle and the more the anti-amnesty forces have the conspicuous force of public opinion backing them, the easier it will be to win each fight. Most importantly, if we can get a majority of the House to oppose amnesty, then the ability to use procedural tricks to pass amnesty will be greatly reduced.

Go to NumbersUSA.com, sign their petition (if it shows up at the front page) and then sign up for their Action Alerts. Use their Action buffet to send faxes to your Congressman opposing amnesty, and to find talking points for phone calls. Beyond that, make your own phone calls to your Congressman (you can find the information at NumbersUSA or using a search engine), telling them to oppose any legalization of illegal aliens. It does not matter if your Congressman is very pro-amnesty. The goal is to bury them with anti-amnesty calls. This will encourage amnesty opponents and frighten amnesty supporters.

It also would not hurt to find the information for your two Senators and to call them, either expressing anger at them if they voted for S. 744, and happiness with them if they voted against it. Votes are listed here. If your Senator was one of the 15 who tried to kill the bill out of the gate by voting "no" on starting debate (see here), give them extra thanks. This could help in the future.

Checking your Congressman's schedule for town halls, etc. is not a bad idea, or calling their local offices to find out if they are attending any town hall-like events.

Order copies of "They Come to America" and "They Come to America II" (order here) and sending three, one to each Senator and one to your Congressman (preferably to their local office, where they will likely get there sooner - hand delivery is best, mail is a second option; NumbersUSA or your legislators' websites should have the necessary information), is not a bad idea. Put a note with them saying "I am disappointed that the Senate passed an "immigration reform" bill that contains a massive amnesty. Please watch this DVD that shows what a disaster any such amnesty could cause." (Or, write your own note). Send copies to friends and relatives as well.

It would also help to organize events opposing amnesty, or to find out if there are events and to attend them. One such event is the Black American Leadership Alliance's July 15 DC March for Jobs. If you cannot attend, use Twitter, email lists, Facebook, whatever, to publicize the event and if you can afford to do so, please donate to help them.

If you know of additional events, please say so in the comments.

(2) We need to influence the leadership to be subordinate to our side. Speaker Boehner, Majority Leader Cantor, and Majority Whip McCarthy need to be scared of our side and to be intimidated by the sheer rage against the Senate Bill. This would be the most effective if done before the July 10 (Wednesday) meeting of House Republicans to discuss strategy on immigration.

Call the leadership up (messages for each are included):

Boehner: (202 225-0600)
"This is [Name, address, phone number]. The Senate immigration bill, S. 744, is an atrocity that would destroy the middle- and working-classes and that makes a mockery of the rule of law. No immigration bill coming out of the House will be safe from the conference threat as long as S.744 stands. S. 744 contains language that makes it a tax and spending bill, which Constitutionally means it cannot originate in the Senate. Please blue slip S. 744. Cantor: (202) 225-2815)
"This is [Name, address, phone number]. I am concerned about the immigration legislation that the Senate recently passed. No legalization, even temporary or probationary, of illegal aliens should even be considered until the border is secure, no increase in work visas until unemployment is below 6% and until our entry-exit system is working. These need to be the principles that any House-based immigration reform is based on. Moreover, no immigration bills at all should be passed in the House until S. 744 is killed. S. 744 is a terribly destructive bill and we cannot risk allowing a House bill to go into conference with it.
McCarthy: (202) 225-2915
"This is [Name, address, phone number]. Please oppose the Senate-passed immigration legislation, S. 744, and please use your position as whip to help prevent House Republicans from supporting it or a similar bill, or from supporting any bill that would go into conference committee with it.

(3) We need to increase the leverage of the anti-amnesty caucus. This includes the 70 (hopefully more now) people that are behind Steve King. Again, the more you can do by July 10 (Wednesday) the better.

We can do this in two ways: first, give money to their campaigns and contact them to let them know why. Here are 15 members who went the extra mile and attended an anti-amnesty Tea Party rally. We can also call their numbers and thank them. Unless you are from their district, don't bother with contact information. Here are their D.C. numbers and a sample message.

(4) We need to neutralize pro-amnesty forces, particularly in the Democratic caucus. This means raising the profile of the few pro-enforcement/anti-amnesty Democrats, and cowing the pro-amnesty Democrats (most importantly the ones in competitive districts) so that they do not push "immigration reform" too hard.

Two Democrats in particular seem to be possible allies so far: Oregon's Peter DeFazio has supported enforcement efforts earlier this year, and Georgia's John Barrow proposed an enforcement-only immigration bill. It would not hurt to call their offices (DeFazio's DC Office (202) 225-6416 Barrow's DC Office (202) 225-2823) and tell their staffers something along the lines of: "Thank you for your stand in favor of enforcement of our immigration laws. Please continue stand for enforcement of our immigration laws and please stand against amnesty for illegal aliens. I hope more Democrats follow your lead." If you are a constituent, leave your contact info, otherwise just give your name.

(5) We need to neutralize potential backstabbers like Paul Ryan and House Republican members of the Congressional Gang of Seven to reduce the chance of them trying to slip amnesty legislation by Congress, starting a discharge petition, etc.

Call Paul Ryan at (202) 225-3031 and tell him "This is [your name] Just a warning – the Tea Party is watching. I know you would dearly love to pull a Rubio and support amnesty legislation in the House. Don’t. Try and we’ll make sure you can’t get elected dogcatcher." Or tell him "I know you are trying to work out an immigration proposal with Carlos Guiterrez. He has already indicated that he feels more loyalty to illegal aliens than to American citizens and he gloats at illegal aliens flaunting their status at powerless state law enforcement. How can you work with a person like that? You better not try to push amnesty in the House or the Tea Party will make certain you can't get elected dogcatcher!

It would also be helpful to call the Republican members of the House "Gang of Eight" (names link to contact information), and say something along the lines of "Hello, my name is [name]. I know that immigration is coming up in the House. I notice that you were a member of the House "Gang of Eight" (in the case of Labrador, add "until you left the group"). Your willingness to work with open-borders advocates like Carlos Guiterrez on an immigration bill worries me. I hope that in the House you will stand with Steve King and take a strong stance against amnesty. The Tea Party is watching."

(6) We need to control the talking points.

Examples:
(a) A "pathway to legalization" is amnesty.
(b) We do not need more guest workers/visas/foreign workers, we have unemployed Americans who need those jobs.
(c) There are no "jobs American won't do" if offered a fair wage. (d) Enforcement must be dealt with in a stand-alone bill, and before any bills legalizing illegal aliens is even considered.
(e) Promises to increase enforcement after legalization cannot be trusted.
(f) Amendments that increase the promises of post-legalization enforcement do not answer our border security concerns.
(g) However bad the current situation is, the Senate Bill would make things worse.

Call people who make statements that are weak - Bob Goodlatte said that Republicans might support a pathway to legalization. Call him ((202) 225-5431) and tell him that a pathway to legalization IS amnesty. We want enforcement only, no legalization. Blake Farenthold (202-225-7742) is a little too sympathetic to the interests of the illegals and you should call him and tell him "No legalization for illegals! Legalization is amnesty! A path to legalization is amnesty! 'Earned legalization' is amnesty!" I'm sure you can find other straddlers who need their spines stiffened.

Representative Michael McCaul (R-TX)gave an interview on "Face the Nation" where he came out somewhat well, but he made a few disturbing statements:

McCaul channeled a remark from House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, that Republicans "need to be the party of solutions and not always obstructing." But politics from the other side, he worried, pose a threat to the House's GOP majority.

"I am deeply concerned that the effort should be bipartisan - border security on my committee was (an) unanimously approved, completely bipartisan bill," he said. "My concern of the political backdrop could be that the White House would like to see this fail in the House so that it can blame the House of Representatives for that and then try to take back the House of Representatives. And then, all bets are off on his agenda."

He also expressed hope for a conference committee with the Senate.

You might want to call him ((202) 225-2401) and tell him "I am a little disturbed by some of the things you said on "Face the Nation" about the immigration bill. You implied that the GOP was too obstructionist. With all due respect, given the crap sandwich that is the Senate bill, I think they should be obstructionist. And you seem overly concerned about the effects of the bill dying in the House. The bill is so unpopular that I think that the House GOP would be seen as heroes if it fails. And I am very worried about what would happen to any GOP bill that makes it to conference committee with the Senate bill. Until S.744 is dead, there should be no conference."

(7) We need to make certain that we are aware of all of the procedural tricks that can be used to get amnesty passed, and to counteract them. We also need to be aware of all of the tricks that can stymie amnesty, and be sure to use them.

Basically, look to VDARE and NumbersUSA and just generally keep your ear to the ground. Once a threat emerges (discharge petition, conference committee), it generally gets publicized very quickly.

(8) Delay is key. The longer we can delay the process of immigration reform moving through the House, the more public opposition to amnesty will grow.

I will update this post adding specific tactics over the next day or so.

Prayer for the Day

Please LORD, let us not forget You when we fight the daily fight. The temptation to rely on our own strategies and strength, and not to leave the harvest to You is so strong. Help us to trust You to bring results when we sow the seeds and tend to them, and not to fret over our limitations and our weaknesses and the seeming futility of our efforts.

God the Father, we surrender our wills to You. God the Son, please cleanse us continually of the power of sin over our lives, and forgive us so that we can have fellowship, as you have already forgiven us for sonship. God the Holy Spirit, please empower us to do the Father's will. All in Your name God the Son Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.

They Come to America

Please go to the website for Dennis Michael Lynch's new film about illegal immigration. The information on this film will help to kill amnesty. Order 5 DVDs of They Come to America II for 23.17 (after shipping) or 5 DVDs of They Come to America and 5 of They Come to America II for 39.99 (free shipping).

My advice: send one copy of each to your congressman and to each Senator. Save one and send one to a friend. Or if you want to order more, send them to multiple friends.

This could help to spur real debate over our immigration system, unlike the circus in the AINO*-controlled Senate.

Who were the House "Gang of Eight?"

Everyone knows of the Senate "Gang of Eight (now Seven)," but it is very hard to find out who the House counterparts were, except for Luis Guiterrez, who occasionally gets some attention, and Raul Labrador, who became know for quitting the group. It is important to know who they were, because even though their bill will be unlikely to get any hearing in the House, these are people to watch out for - in particular, the GOP members might be people who need to be warned off of trying to sneak amnesty bills into the House via a discharge petition or some such. Here are their names, with links to their contact information:

Raul Labrador (LEFT THE GROUP) (R-ID)
Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL)

Thank the Tea Party Anti-Amnesty Attendees

Hopefully you have given to them and contacted their campaigns.

Now it is time to call them up and thank them and encourage them to be strong on Wednesday. VERY IMPORTANT: If you can't call all of them, call one or two, or a few. Every call helps, and don't feel that if you can't call everyone, don;t call anyone!

Here are their Washington Offices. Call them, and give a short message like this (don't worry about giving a number or other contact info):

More Tweeting to Fight Amnesty

Note: Original post had the address wrong: BALAorg, not BALA

I am tweeting the Congressional Black Caucus:

Support the Black American Leadership Alliance DC March for Jobs! @BALAOrg @DCMarchforJobs

Please Tweet this to them as well (I made a public list to make it easier), or go to my page and re-tweet (the latter suggestion is a little harder as the tweets will move down the page and as the tweets may not all be consecutive).

Using Twitter to Fight Amnesty

MJSelker is tweeting every Congressman:

No Immigration Reform. No House/Senate Conference on Immigration #BoehnerCantBeTrusted #NoAmnesty

Go to his page and retweet these. As I understand it, the Re-Tweet will be sent to the Congressman as well as to your followers.

We need to get an avalanche of tweets to Congress on this.

Also, it would not be a bad idea to follow MJSelker.

Anti-Amnesty Strategy for July

The strategy for those who oppose amnesty in the House during July should first concentrate on getting our side into the dominant position in the House debate before the July 10 GOP caucus meeting.

(1) Make certain that the anti-amnesty side is as strong as possible in the July 10 meeting, so that their concerns rule the day. You can do this by donating to and contacting known strong amnesty opponents, by contacting Speaker John Boehner (202-225-0600) and telling him to blue-slip S. 744 (send it back to the Senate on the grounds that it imposes taxes and therefore must originate in the House), by contacting Majority Leader Eric Cantor (202-225-2815) and telling him enforcement needs to be dealt with separately from, and prior to, legalization (yes, I know that even an enforcement-only bill brings the conference committee threat, but the goal right now is to soften Cantor up and get him to support enforcement first, after that we can push him on tactics - desides, the Tea Party Congressmen already know about the conference threat and will push the point at the July 10 meeting), and by visiting NumbersUSA and signing up for Action Alerts. NumbersUSA will give you lots of ideas as to how to oppose amnesty effectively.

(2) Call your own Congressman and tell them that the Senate bill S. 744 is unacceptable, and that it would flood the labor market with legal and illegal foreign workers, destroying the American working and middle classes. If your Congressman is a Democrat, emphasize these points; if a Republican, tell them also that the bill is amnesty-first, with only promises of enforcement. It is not only important that anti-amnesty be reinforced amongst Republicans, it is important that Democrats know that their constituents hate the bill so that they will be scared to defend it too much.

(3) Make certain that squishy Republicans who might try to pull a Rubio know that we are onto them and they won't be able to slip anything by us (this will reduce the chance of a discharge petition or of pressure causing Boehner to cave on bringing up the Senate bill). Call Paul Ryan at (202) 225-3031 and tell him "This is [your name] Just a warning – the Tea Party is watching. I know you would dearly love to pull a Rubio and support amnesty legislation in the House. Don’t. Try and we’ll make sure you can’t get elected dogcatcher." You'll probably get voice mail, but leave a message. You might want to rewrite it in your own words, but be sure to write down what you want to say beforehand.

(4) Call people who make statements that are weak - Bob Goodlatte said that Republicans might support a pathway to legalization.

Once this is accomplished, the goal shifts to making certain that no legalization passes the House, that the House either procedurally kills the Senate bill (e.g. blue slip) or that it does not allow anything to go to conference with the Senate bill. We need to work on getting each of these topics into the media, and getting people on our side. We need to inundate Congress with calls, and we need events like the Black American Leadership Alliance's upcoming D.C. March for Jobs.

I'll deal with later parts of the strategy over the next few days. But the first goal is to get the anti-amnesty side as strong as possible for the caucus on July 10. If we are in control of the debate, then we will be in a much better position to work our will.

Prayer for the Day

Please LORD, we are in such turbulent times, when we are told up is down and down is up, please give us the strength to stand for the Truth. Please God, give us the backbone to stand for right and against wrong, and not to allow ourselves to be silenced. Help us to bring our own lives in line with the values that You require, and not to be hypocrites. How hard it is to live as one ought! Please, give us the power to be salt to the world, and to be Your lights in the darkness.

Save us, O LORD, from the power of sin in our lives and lead us towards You. Help us to be strong, and just, and to proclaim Your word throughout the world. Please save our country from the troubles that best it, and withhold Your righteous judgment in Your mercy. Please, help us to repent and to seek You.

God, in all Three Ways You exist, please direct our paths. You alone are God; You are Holy and our holiness is only Yours imputed upon us. Show us You mercy and love. In Your name Jesus the Incarnate Word, we pray.

Amen.

#noconference!

One fear about how amnesty might pass in the House is that a good bill may pass the House, and then be turned into amnesty in a conference committee with the Senate (conference committees resolve the differences between Senate and House bills).

The good news is, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Bill Kristol have all warned about this, and NumbersUSA is aware of the threat, so we can prepare for it.

One way is through Twitter. Anyone with a Twitter account, please re-post this tweet, or write your own tweet with a #noconference hashtag. We need to get #noconference trending!

That is all.

Prayer for the Day

LORD Jesus, loving God the Son, God the Father through God the Son, please forgive my sins and the sins of our nation. Please give me the peace to recharge through this Congressional recess, and the wisdom to fight the battles that You want me to fight the way you want me to fight them. Please help me to know what is right and what would would be compromising my principles. Please God, pour Your Spirit out upon the land, and cause men to repent and seek You.

Please strengthen the resolve of John Boehner not to let the Senate Bill pass, and please strengthen the resolve of the House to focus on enforcement. Help us to stop the hatred of the historical American nation without resorting to hatred of others, and help us to find a way to remove the illegal alien presence with compassion; please help us to show that compassion does not require the abrogation of the rule of law and that enforcement is not hateful.

Help us, God, as a nation and as individuals to conquer our collective addiction to, and obsession with, fornication and lust. Help us to find ways to speak truth in love and not to hate, but not to deny the standards set by Your word, and explained by the Word become flesh.

God, help us to seek you in all three ways you exist, as Father, as Son, and as Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Striking Back at the Pro-Amnesty Establishment

Paul Nachman's reader Mark Mendlovitz has a good idea, but I would take it a step further.

Mark mentions calling them and asking to be taken off their mailing lists, and for them to remove all of your personal information from their mailing lists. Paul mentions threatening to tape their postage-paid envelopes to something heavy and to send it back to them. I say, don't threaten, do, and tell them what you did. Threats are cheap.

Nachman also has a suggestion as to what to put in the envelope to explain what you are doing. You might als owrite your own message, depending on to whom you are sending the mail.

If you don't want to deal with a postal clerk, make certain that what you mail is less than 13 ounces, and use a mailbox.

Personally, I take a 9X12 manila envelope and fill it with old magazines, and then put my message in the postage-paid envelope, and tape that to the big envelope (total weight must be under 13 ounces).

According to the Post Office, if this is sent first class it costs $3.32. I don't know if "business reply" mail gets a discount or not.

Mendlovitz mentions 6 organizations:

Republican National Committee (RNC):310 First Street, SE Washington, DC 20003. Phone (202) 863-8500 / Fax (202) 863-8654.

National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC): 425 2nd Street NE Washington, DC 20002. Phone (202) 675-6000 / Fax (202) 675-4730.

National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC): 320 First Street SE Washington, DC 20003. Phone (202) 479-7000

Democratic National Committee (DNC): 430 South Capitol St. SE Washington, DC 20003. Phone (202) 863-8000 or (877) 336-7200 / Fax(202) 863-8082.

Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC): 120 Maryland Ave. NE Washington, DC 20002. Phone (202) 224-2447 / Fax (202) 969-0354.

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC): 430 S. Capitol Street, S.E. Washington, D.C. 20003. Phone (202) 863-1500

I would add the Cato Institute. Send back any postage-paid envelope they give you attached to a manila envelope filled with some old magazines, and a note saying that you don't support people who support amnesty.

If you know of any other organizations which are pro-amnesty to which this strategy can be applied, please let me know in the comments.

Nigger Savage Invades Home, Beats Woman

Interesting video of a nigger (and no, not all black people qualify to be called "niggers," but someone who does this certainly does - why I am using this word) beating a white woman in front of her three-year-old with her 18-month old asleep upstairs.

Kill Amnesty with Blue Slip

Steve Stockman is trying to get the Senate amnesty scheme killed by a "blue slip" resolution.

Several provisions of the Senate amnesty bill create new taxes, a violation of the “origination clause,” Article I, Section 7, Clause 1 of the United States Constitution, which states “All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.”

They Fight Dirty, You Fight Dirty

Note: Please, if you like this idea, re-post it. A message to Republicans in Colorado:

Democratic Governor Hickenlooper just signed a bill that would facilitate election fraud, despite the protest of every Republican in the legislature, and the Secretary of State.

These bills tend to discourage Republicans, because they see the allowance of massive voter fraud as benefiting Democrats and worry that the Democrats will no longer have to listen to voters because they can manufacture votes.

I say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

In any future election, if you have an opportunity to cast extra ballots, or if you have an opportunity to get an out-of-state relative to cast a ballot, or any other chance to get fraudulent votes for Republicans, take it.

If the Democrats want to make election fraud a civil right, then Republicans should commit as much election fraud as they can get away with.

It's like publishing the names of the newspaper employees of that paper that was publishing the names of gun owners. Fight fire with fire.

Any time that there is a Democrat-supported law facilitating voter fraud that Republicans can use to their benefit, they should. After they get in power, they can restore integrity to the process.

That is all.

Thank You, LORD, for bringing the total of anti-amnesty Senators to 33. Please Lord God Almighty, if it be Your will, let the number become greater than 40 and stop the bill tomorrow. If not, then if it be Your will, let the huge outpouring of opposition to the bill poison it for the House, and let the House not do anything that would let the Senate bill get to the floor.

Please bring Chuck Schumer and the Gang of Eight to repentance, and help me to repent and be what You want me to be as well. If You allow us to defeat the bill, please guide us as to what to do next in order to take our country back.

LORD God, please light our path to do Your Will. You are great and may your praise be on our lips as we try to save our country.

Amen.

A Real Black Hero

Senator Tim Scott voted against amnesty even on the 15 Senators only first vote for cloture to start debate.

I'd like to see him be the senior Senator from South Carolina come 2015.

That is all.

Prayer for the Day

Dear God, please give the Senate the wisdom to reject S. 744. Failing that, please give John Boehner the strength the resist the calls to act on this bill. LORD give him the backbone not to back down and to insist on not passing anything that the majority of House Republicans do not support.

Raise up a hero, O LORD, who will defeat this monster and save the United States.

That is all.

What Do Whites Owe Other Races?

Love, evangelism, charity. Some are part of the U.S. and should be treated as fellow citizens, but we do not owe non-whites total control of our country through mass immigration.

We do not owe them groveling subservience or eternal guilt over slavery and colonialism.

We need to do a better job of bringing the gospel to the rest of the world (and we must not neglect the gospel in this country).

I think that Christianity is pro-ethnic nationalism, and that it is consistent with any sort of ethnic nationalism within one's own country (e.g. it is not consistent with Latino ethnic nationalism in the U.S., but is with Latino ethnic nationalism in Mexico). So the fact that Christianity gets turned into an ethnic nationalist religion in third-world countries does not in itself bother me (however, if that nationalism takes the form of ethnic superiority in the sense that Christ prefers your race over others, it becomes heretical, and if that nationalism does not include the idea that your nation has a duty to bring the gospel to other nations, that is also heretical).

What I believe in is not a white nationalist version of Christianity, but in the idea that Christianity allows white nationalism, black nationalism, etc., within their proper domains.

How does that square with the idea that in Christ, there is no Jew or Greek, but we are all one? Simple. We are all one in Christ, and in Christ there is unity. So race should not separate the Church. However, after the flesh God has separated us, and whenever we unite on the basis of the flesh (or the world, or the natural man, whichever you prefer) we unite against God (Tower of Babel). This is not to say that all interracial marriage is bad, but that it should be an exception, not the norm of a society. "No Jew or Greek" specifically refers to the body of believers, so it is not a call for racial unity for everyone (there is no call that the lost need unity), and I would argue that it only applies insofar as they are operating as a body of believers.

That's not a complete essay of my thoughts, but it's a start.

That is all.

Show Your Support in 2014 for Anti-Amnesty Senators

Update: Three more Senators whose terms expire in 2015 opposed the motion to limit debate on the Corker-Hoeven amendment.

Thad Cochran, Mike Johanns, and Mitch McConnell.

As far as I can tell, only McConnell is the only one running for re-election in 2014 (as opposed to retiring).

Thank him for his patriotism at his campaign site.

15 Senators tried to stop S. 744, the immigration amnesty bill, from reaching the floor for debate.

Of those, 6 are up for re-election in 2014: Jeff Sessions, John Cornyn, Jim Inhofe, Mike Enzi, Pat Roberts, and Jim Risch.

Sessions and Cornyn's campaign sites are mentioned in this post. Here are their campaign sites.

Jim Risch

Jim Inhofe

Pat Roberts

Go to their campaign websites (except Enzi, who doesn't seem to have one) and make donations. Then contact them through their campaign website or Facebook page and say "thank you for opposing S. 744."

What the Current Crisis is About

Satan hates white people. He hates everyone, but he in particular hates white Europeans, probably more than anyone else except for the Jews (he likes to use certain Jews (Chuck Schumer, King Manasseh), but he doesn't actually like them except as tools, and he hates the race with a passion due to their connection with the Messiah)

Why does he hate white people? Because we (white Gentiles) have been the keepers of the Church (I'm a Baptist, so I am talking in the broader sense of the term Church ) since the Jews rejected the Messiah in the first century. There have been other Christians, but by and large we have been where the Church has had its various headquarters and the primary funders and maintainers of evangelism.

For that same reason, God has protected us. But as whites have abandoned God, fallen to atheism, sensuality, become self-satisfied, God has removed His shield of protection and allowed to Devil to drive us toward madness.

So the Devil is turning us from God, and then delights in turning us on each other. Even if we are no longer a force for God, the Devil is still trying to destroy us for what we have been, rather than simply trying to pervert us and then use us.

Alternately, it is possible that the Devil is not trying to destroy us, but to raise us to strength to do his bidding, and as we as a people submit, God is destroying us (this is not to say that God is to blame, but that our destruction is a judgment). That is, it is not that the Devil is trying to destroy us for being the keepers of the Church, he is simply jealous of the Church and is trying to turn us into an equally strong force for his side, but in the process he is destroying us (or letting God do so); that is, the Devil is not intentionally leading us to destruction, but he is leading us, and he can only lead in one direction.

Whether the Devil is expressing hate for us, or a desire to lead us, his influence is destroying us and must be resisted. More to the point, God must be sought. There is a reason why Satan receives very few mentions in the historical books of the Bible (i.e. Genesis - Nehemiah) as opposed to the poetic and prophetic books), even though his malign influence is seen throughout. It is because our focus should be on God, not on the Enemy. We need to focus on Him Whom we seek, not him whom we oppose. If we focus on opposing the Devil, we look to ourselves, and ultimately we create as much of our own sin as evil spirits do - and we miss God. If we turn to God, our resistance of all evil is automatic. While we resist the barbarian hordes invading us, we must look within to see our weakness, and to God to see our source of strength, and we must repent and turn toward God if we hope to avoid the destruction ahead of us.

By all means, fight the political battle. But we must also fight the spiritual battle if we want our nation to survive.

Turn to Jesus to save you from your sins. Believe He is God, that He became a human being, and that He died on the cross for your sins. Believe that He rose on the third day to prove that He has paid for sin, and thus conquered death. Trust his death to save you.

After this, pray to God to save our nation from the judgment ahead, and look to see how to do God's will.

And remember, God has raised us as the keepers of the Church in order to do His will, not simply to be satisfied in our raised status. Yes, we do have a duty to other races, including charity and evangelism. If we wish to survive, if we wish to avoid invasion, we must not only obey God's will in how we conduct our lives, but in how we spread God's message to the world. Evangelize them over there so they do not invade over here.

I have stood on the sidelines of the spiritual battle too long.

That is all.

Prayer for the Day

Dear Jesus, I can think of no other explanationthan that Satanic spirits are in control of many of our leaders. Jesus, Lord Jesus, Jesus LORD, please exorcise the demons from our elected officials. Let them see the the light and turn toward you and away from treason. Save their souls and save our country, Jesus. Please make me holy so as to fight the war ahead.

Amen.

Prayer for the Day

Dear LORD Yahweh (Jehovah), God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, please spare our nation and bring us to repentance. We are asked to pray for our enemies. Please bless Chuck Schumer, Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and the rest of the gang of Eight and bring them to repentance so that they will abandon their plans to destroy our nation. Thank you God for judging sin, and thank you for allowing us an opportunity to foresee this judgment so that there may be a chance to avoid it. Please God turn our will toward yours and help us to turn from our sins, individual and collective. Help us to evangelize the rest of the world where they live so that we need not have them invade us. Give us hearts to do mission work and to evangelize in our own neighborhoods. Save us from our comfortable, self-satisfied, and deceitful lives and allow us to glorify you. Save us, O LORD. Amen.

Nigger. It is time to stand up to the the bullies who are crucifying Paula Deen. Nigger.

Nigger. Now if I have any black readers who like my writings, I am not doing this to offend you. I don't think there is any point in offending people just to give offense. Nigger.

Nigger. But at a certain point, you have to stand up to bullies. Nigger.

Nigger. I don't see another way than just to inundate blogs and the net with this word. Nigger. That is nigger.

Prayer for the Day

Dear Elohim, God Almighty, please spare this nation. Thank You for the good news; the dissipation of Republican support, the increase in calls flooding Senate offices. Thank You also for this opportunity to rely on You, and for the lessons we may learn from this perilous time. Help us to win the war, and to give You the glory and to turn this nation around.

I know that we have neglected You. Please give us hearts to thank You, and help us to appreciate Your goodness, to turn to You for forgiveness and salvation.

LORD please bless this nation with Your Spirit, turn our hearts to you, and spare us the terrible judgment that is coming.

Amen.

Prayer for the Day

Dear LORD, please forgive our nation its sins. Please pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us and let us repent. Please do not let evil men destroy us. Please raise up heroes to defend our nation from the treasonous rot that envelops us. Please help us to turn to you and please spare us the terrible judgment you are preparing. Help us Father, help us Son, help us Holy Spirit, in Your name God the Son Jesus Christ I pray,

Amen.

A Way to Fight Amnesty for the Religious

Pray to God for mercy on our nation and for this bill to fail, for the evil men who are promoting it to repent, and for those who oppose it weakly to grow strong. Pray for God to send a hero to slay this bill. Repent, and ask that God pours out the Holy Spirit on this nation and ask that we be given another chance to repent and to turn to him, for forgiveness and to avoid the terrible judgment on our nation that this bill would be. Fast for a day, and pray. That is all.

A Request

New England conservative talk radio show host Howie Carr has been attacking the amnesty bill. This is great! However, he despairs over New Englanders doing much about it. When a caller suggested that we "bombard our Senators with calls," he said "but they're all liberal Democrats!" He doesn't seem to think that there is anything that New Englanders can do.

He is rousing up his listeners and getting them angry, but he needs to organize them into doing something useful.

My suggestion:

We need to send him a message:

"Howie? Guess who voted against amnesty in 2007? Bernie Sanders and Susan Collins. Tell your listeners to call their Senators and tell them to oppose S. 744, the amnesty bill, regardless of who they are. Even if you don't change their mind, your opposition is registered and it may frighten other Senators."

You can contact his show five ways:

Text him at 680680 Call his show, weekdays 3pm-7pm (Eastern Standard Time) at 1-877-HOWIECA(RR) (1-877-469-4322) (I don;t know how many people get on, when I call it just keeps ringing, presumably eventually some people get through) FAX: 1-617-779-3467 Leave a recorded voice mail message (Chump Line): 1-617-779-3469 (Some messages are read on air ~5 :15pm). (You may have to call back if the mailbox is full) Online contact: http://howiecarrshow.com/contact/

If you could get everyone on your mailing list to contact him, maybe the message will get through (my thought is that we try to fill the Chump Line with different people speaking the same message).

That is all.

More Chances to Reward Anti-Amnesty Heroes

Representative Steve King (R-IA.) threatens to use procedural moves to stop amnesty in the House.

Donate to his campaign and send a message of thanks to him. This post contains how to do it.

Walter Jones (R-N.C.) joins with law enforcement agencies to oppose amnesty.

Fighting Amnesty Now by Supporting Amnesty Opponents

This will be kept at the top of the page for a while and new posts posted below.

UPDATE: Added Rep. Pete DeFazio (a Democrat!), Paul Gosar, Steve Fleming, John Fleming, and Steve Stockman; see below.

NOTE:Other ideas here and here.

UPDATE 04/21/2013: Added Rep. Lamar Smith; see below.

UPDATE 04/14/2013: Dana Rohrbacher, Michele Bachmann, and Mo Brooks, have been added to the list; see below.

Jeff Sessions and John Cornyn of the Senate Judiciary Committee are true heroes!

They are demanding more hearings on the immigration bill that the Gang of Eight is trying to ram through the Senate.

They are up for re-election in 2014, so it would not hurt to show their campaigns your financial support as a way to thank them and to send a message to wobbly Senators on the issue. THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO LOBBY LEGISLATORS WHO REPRESENT DISTRICTS OTHER THAN YOUR OWN.

Send Sessions' campaign a check at:

Friends of Sessions Senate Committee, Inc.
P.O. Box 4278
Montgomery, AL 36103

And write a note saying something along the lines of:

Dear Senator Sessions:

Thank you so much for standing up against amnesty for illegal aliens! Thank you for demanding that Pat Leahy hold hearings on any immigration legislation.

I am a single-issue voter and a single-issue campaign contributor!

Sincerely,

(Your name)

And send Cornyn's campaign a donation at:

Texans for Senator John Cornyn, Inc.
P.O Box 13026
Austin, Texas 78711

(You can also donate online, but you should call (512) 494-8535 if you want to send a message about why you are contributing)

You can write the same note as for Sessions, just with Cornyn's name.

Also, on Wedenesday, April 10, Congressmen Lou Barletta, Louie Gohmert, and Steve King voiced their opposition to the impending amnesty bill.

You can donate to them online and send a message with the donation:

Louie Gohmert

Steve King

LouBarletta

For Gohmert or Barletta, you can send a longer message:
Dear Representative (Barletta, Gohmert),

Thank you for joining Steve King in voicing your opposition to amnesty for illegal aliens on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. I am a single-issue voter and a single-issue campaign contributor, and I want to help anyone who stands up against this nation-destroying amnesty!

Sincerely,

(Your name).

For Steve King, there's only a little room, so send something like: "Thanks for opposing amnesty!" Or, you can leave a message on his Facebook page.

Here are three more names:

Dana Rohrbacher

You can send his campaign money online and then explain why you support him on FaceBook, or you can download a mail form and mail it to him with a note (address is on the form).

Michele Bachmann

Donate at the site above and send a message about why you donated on Facebook.

Or, you could presumably mail a contribution and a note to the address shown on the donation page.

Mo Brooks

It is probably better to send a check to the address on the page in Congressman Brooks' case, as he does not have a Facebook account and there are no comments on his web form, although I suppose you could call the campaign at 256-763-0102 to let them know why you donated.

In all 3 cases, the message could be the same as for Barletta or Gohmert:
Dear Representative (Rohrbacher, Brooks, Bachmann),

Thank you for joining Steve King in voicing your opposition to amnesty for illegal aliens on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. I am a single-issue voter and a single-issue campaign contributor, and I want to help anyone who stands up against this nation-destroying amnesty!

Sincerely,

(Your name).

Lamar Smith is also on our side.

Donate here and contact his campaign here.

A message like this would be nice:

Dear Lamar Smith:

Thank you for standing up against the so-called "comprehensive immigration reform bill" proposed by the Gang of Eight. I am a single-issue campaign contributor, and I pledged $25 to your campaign because of your patriotism.

(Your name)

Note, though, that the donation page does not contain a method (e.g. credit card, bank account) so any donations seem to be more like pledges.

Peter Defazio (D-Oregon, 4th district) is a co-sponsor of Lamar Smith's Legal Workforce Act (H.R. 1772).

Donate to his campaign, then call his campaign at (541) 485-1622 and his office at (202) 225-6416, and say something to the effect of:

I just donated to your campaign. I am happy to see that you co-sponsored Lamar Smith's H.R. 1772, the Legal Workforce Act. I am a single-issue contributor, and I support people who oppose allowing rich megadonors to import more cheap labor. The current so-called immigration reform in the Senate is nothing more than a giveaway of cheap labor to rich donors. I'm glad that you are supporting a different path in the House.

Perhaps the message about the donation should only be given to the campaign; to the office just tell the staffer thank you to Pete DeFazio.

You can also message him on Facebook.

On May 14, Congressmen Steve King, Mo Brooks, Louie Gohmert, Paul Gosar, John Fleming, and Steve Stockman spoke out against amnesty. The donation/contact information for the first three is above. The latter three are below:

Paul Gosar: Contribute to his campaign, and then Contact him to let him know why (or post on Facebook) (You can also send a message with your online donation, as the donation goes through Piryx)

John Fleming: Contribute to his campaign, and then Contact him to let him know why. (You can also send a message with your online donation, as the donation goes through Piryx)

Steve Stockman: Contribute to his campaign, and then tell him why on Facebook.

The message can be something like:

I donated to your campaign today. Thank you for standing up with Congressmen Steve King, Mo Brooks, Louie Gohmert, Paul Gosar, John Fleming, and Steve Stockman [delete whichever one is the one you are sending the message to] against the Gang of Eight's amnesty bill. I am a single-issue voter and a single-issue campaign contributor. We need more Congressmen like you who are true patriots and are not bought off by the cheap labor lobby.

John Barrow, Democratic Congressman Hero

Democrat John Barrow has introduced H.R. 2124, the Keeping the Promise of IRCA Act. It's an enforcement only immigration reform bill!

This is John Barrow's campaign website if you want to donate to his re-election campaign.

You can leave a message with your donation, so this would be a good opportunity to say something along the lines of "I'm a single-issue voter. Thank you for coming out in support of immigration enforcement by introducing H.R. 2124, Keeping the Promise of IRCA."

Here is his Washington number: (202) 225-2823, if you want to leave a message saying "Thank you for introducing H.R. 2124, Keeping the Promise of IRCA. This is the type of reform we need, not the giveaway to corporate interests that is the Gang of Eight Bill."

Or you can contact him on his webform.

Here is his Facebook page, if you want to comment on his announcement of his bill, or to "like" him or his announcement.

With him and Peter DeFazio, we just need two more Democrats and we can get an "Untouchables of Eight" to counter the "Gang!"

Southern Poverty Law Center Good for Something?

Via NumbersUSA, a story about a racial discrimination lawsuit by blacks against illegal-alien hiring businesses in Georgia.

In the second page, Jim Knoepp of the SPLC complains about businesses claiming that Americans won't do work when the real issue is that the businesses won't pay a reasonable wage. His comment "If we need them, why not bring them in and make them legal citizens with real protections?" may be taken as an endorsement of immigration (although it could just be a hypothetical to illustrate a point), but his follow-up statement "The answer is because then they wouldn’t keep working in the fields given the conditions of that work. They would do something else" is also consistent with saying that we don't actually need these immigrants or guest workers. In any case, he understands the destructive influence of the cheap labor lobby on our immigration policy.

Hey - a racial discrimination lawsuit attacking employers who hire illegals - that's a lawsuit I can support! And half a cheer for the SPLC on this one!

Another Way to Fight Amnesty

In addition to giving money to the campaigns of friendly legislators, you may have opportunities to contact unfriendly legislators.

Recently I got a mailing from Paul Ryan's campaign, asking me to help him fight Obama's tax and spend policies. Ryan is known to be amnesty-friendly. I sent back the donation paper, unmarked (I'm not giving him a red cent), stapled to this message:

Dear Paul Ryan:

If you really want to fight the Obama agenda, you will join Steve King, Lou Barletta, and Louie Gohmert in opposing the Gang of Eight’s immigration amnesty bill and in pledging not to pass a similar bill in the House.

Given our current lack of jobs and bad economy, the last thing that we need is to increase the supply of workers competing with Americans for scarce jobs.

We need reduced legal immigration levels and better enforcement of our immigration laws. We need to encourage those who are here illegally to return to their countries of origin by making them ineligible for government benefits and by making it impossible for them to find work (e.g. by mandating the us of E-Verify). We also need to reduce the number of people we permit to enter the country, as we have a labor glut and additional workers do nothing but decrease wages and create a larger wealth gap that threatens not only the country, but also the future prospects of the Republican Party.

I know that a lot of powerful donors, such as Sheldon Adelson, Mark Zuckerberg, and Mark Singer want more cheap labor through mass immigration. If you want my support, you will have to stand up to them and say “NO.”

Sincerely,

[My Name]

Looking back at it, I should have mentioned that I donated money to King's, Barletta's, and Gohmert's campaigns, making my refusal to donate to Ryan's even more significant. I also should have stapled the documents I mentioned in the previous post to my letter (if the envelope they send you is pre-paid, and they are a hostile, always add things to bulk up the weight).

It's time to get mean.

That is all.

Time to Talk to Your Senators

Tell them to reject the Gang of Eight's amnesty bill (S. 744).

Here's a list of contact information, including local office addresses. Visit in person if you can.

Here is a good article to print out to give to your legislator's staff.

Here is another one, and it is PDF downloadable with charts. (I print out the first four pages full-size, and the next 18 - the chatrs - 4 pages to a printed page)

Here is NumbersUSA's chart on how many aliens would be let in over the next 10 years under S. 744.

Write a cover letter (Here is mine as an example):

Dear Senator [name]:

I am deeply concerned about the recent immigration legislation moving through the Senate, and its potentially devastating effects on U.S. workers.

I have enclosed a chart that shows just how many new immigrants would gain permanent legal status if S. 744, the “Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act,” were passed. I have also enclosed articles debunking the myths that there is an technology worker shortage and that we need more immigration because there are jobs that Americans are unwilling to do.

The bill would add up to 33 million new immigrants in the first decade, and 20 million every decade after that. With at least 20 millions Americans unable to find a full-time job, this would put an outrageous strain on our economy. In addition, all of these additional people would put great pressure on our natural resources.

This bill allows way too many people access to permanent legal residence, and its promises of greater security have no “teeth” that would ensure that they are kept.

Please reject S. 744, and demand thorough hearings on any immigration bill that comes before the Senate.

You might also want to consider scheduling town hall meetings prior to any vote on such a bill, to find out how your constituents feel about bringing in more workers to compete with Americans for jobs.

Sincerely,

[Your name]

Tell the staff member that you are concerned about the effect that S. 744 would have on U.S. workers and that S. 744 needs more hearings and discussion. Suggest that your Senator needs to hold a town hall meeting on immigration before any final vote is held. Then give them your articles, preferably in a neat folder.

You might also do the same with your Congressman, although obviously you should mention that you know that the bill is currently in the Senate but that you are worried about similar bills in the House.

And while you are at it, give a folder with the same information to your state or local GOP and tell them that this issue concerns you.

That is all.

WARNING: Do NOT Trust "Remember America's Heritage"

I recently got a mailing from "Remember America's Heritage" lauding Jan Brewer and talking about how we need to combat illegal immigration. The only problem is, the mailing referred to the "Gang of Eight's" comprehensive amnesty bill in neutral terms, and implied that it had positive language that we must make certain Obama does not strip out of the bill. Translation: "Remember America's Heritage" is trying to make the Gang of Eight's amnesty out to be the pro-enforcement alternative to some theoretically worse Obama position. Do not trust them, do not send them money, DO NOT SEND THEIR PETITION. That is all.

Gun Owners of America Comes Out Against Amnesty!

Will the Amnesty Bill Lead to Gun Confiscation in 2035?

I figured that their coffers must be drained from the recent fight against registration, so I donated $125.00 as soon as I saw this.

Please donate as generously to Gun Owners of America (GOA) as you can (if you use PayPal, click here).

Also, contact the NRA-ILA (the lobbying branch of the NRA) and tell them what GOA is doing and tell them they need to do the same.

It would not hurt if in your contacting of them, you let them know that you donated to GOA and might donate to them as well.

It's a good site that compiles lots of news about individuals who support amnesty.

Visit it, and spread the stories.

Sample story: Ted Poe (TX-R) is going soft on amnesty. If you live in his district, contact him. Otherwise, post this information on your blog or in relevant comments.

Also, 24ahead himself has some suggestions of his own on how to expose Poe and shame him into returning to the anti-amnesty fold (I think it involves Twitter, which I do not use). Check the post out.

Please, if you belong to the NRA or GOA, contact them (you can do so from their website or get phone contact information from there) and let them know that they need to take a position against any sort of amnesty for illegal aliens, on the basis that those who are amnestied will almost certainly be overwhelmingly hostile to gun rights.

The amnesty fight is about to gear up and we need as many allies as we can get.

That is all.

Thought on Same-Sex "Marriage" Supposedly Being a Conservative Position

Any time someone says that supporting same-sex marriage is a conservative position, what they really mean is "I have figured out a conservative-sounding rationalization for a profoundly liberal position."

Ways to Fight Amnesty

Donate to NumbersUSA so that they can run more ads like this.

If you haven't already, please donate to VDARE today. We cannot have them shut down while the amnesty fight heats up. Better yet, give an automatic monthly donation so that they will have a guaranteed revenue stream.

Be sure to thank the American Legion for standing against amnesty.

That is all for now.

More on the Republican National Committee

If you are a Republican, and want to tell the RNC that the leadership needs to get its act together and join the American people to oppose amnesty, you may not want to wait for a fundraising appeal from the committee to act.

You may contact them in one of three ways:

On the net.

By mail:

Republican National Committee
310 First Street,
SE Washington, DC 20003

By phone

I suggest a message similar to:

I have long been a Republican and I am all for electing more Republicans.

However, the actions taken by McCain, Graham, Rubio, and Flake in creating the “Gang of Eight” immigration amnesty plan make we wary of helping the Republican Party per se. We don’t need another amnesty.

So much of the establishment, and of the leadership, including Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan, and John Boehner, have given in and are pursuing an amnesty for illegal immigrants. This is, of course, due to the funding of the cheap labor lobby and the donations of fatcats such as Sheldon Adelson.

This is unacceptable. We must stand like a stone wall against amnesty, and we must stand for deporting those who are here illegally, securing our borders, and reducing legal immigration to something manageable. We must support mandatory E-Verify, an end to chain migration, and an end to birthright citizenship to the children of illegal aliens.

Until I see some evidence of the GOP establishment moving in this direction, I will only be giving to particular candidates who share my views, and to immigration restrictionist organizations like FAIR, VDARE, and NumbersUSA.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

A New Idea for Fighting Amnesty

Dear Readers:

Here is an idea for readers who are Republicans who wish to fight amnesty.

Occasionally you are likely to get mail and/or phone calls from the Republican National Committee. When you do, explain the following to them:

Thank you for calling. I am all for electing more Republicans.

For mail, you can print this out and mail it back in lieu of a donation. For a phone call, have this printed out or memorized and explain it after letting the caller give their spiel.

One important thing is always to make certain you have a statement prepared ahead of time, and make certain that you make it clear that you are against amnesty, against the Rubio-Graham-McCain-Flake plan, and are for E-Verify and border enforcement. Talking about the cheap-labor lobby and Sheldon Adelson is good, but the caller might not know what this means and might not understand what side you are on.

That is all.

We Haven't Lost Yet

I don't like the negativity we are seeing in the amnesty debate, in particular, the charge that the anti-amnesty side has simply stopped fighting. I don't think that's the case at all.

Rather, all of the current attempts at passing an amnesty are at early stages, and no bill has gotten off of the ground yet. I think that as soon as things actually start moving, more attention will be paid and the anti-amnesty forces will start to rally. What those who oppose amnesty need to do now is not to get discouraged, but to read NumbersUSA and to join its Action Buffet, start reading and donating to VDARE, and in general lay the groundwork for the huge fight that is going to come if amnesty gets off the ground at all.

That is all.

Shut Up, Fred Reed

Patrick Cleburne at VDARE has a good response to Fred's Reed execrable surrender on amnesty. I would only hasten to add that it is simply not true that those who are here illegally cannot be removed, that the numbers of people already here who cannot be removed can still be more easily assimilated, etc., if we stop the flow of illegal aliens, and that yes, having a huge marginalized underground population of illegals is definitely preferable to the new immigration explosion that would follow an amnesty. As for the idea that we have to accept these illegals because otherwise we promote hostility and the division of the country - if we do not get immigration under control, then we will either have division of the surrender of whites to the Latinos and our forced assimilation into Latino culture. I would rather have division than lose our culture, and I would rather the division happen sooner than later, while we still outnumber them greatly. That is all.

A Beautifully Explained Sentiment

"Immigration reform is not about semantics" says Dan Stein on the Hill's Congress blog.

I think that this says it all.

One of the most annoying things I find from the cheap labor lobby within the GOP is the claim that "We don't support amnesty, because we want them to go to the back of the line and pay a fine," etc.

This ignores several things; for one thing, allowing illegal aliens to stay in this country legally is amnesty; the pathway to citizenship is over and above amnesty - the idea that it is only amnesty if they get citizenship - or only amnesty if they get immediate citizenship, is ridiculous. Going to the back of the line is not about leaving the country; they are not in the back of the line for legal status. It is about going to the back of the line for getting citizenship, which is not the most important thing for most of the illegal alines. Moreover, there is this implication that what restrictionists object to is simply the lack of a penalty. As long as we get a pound of flesh, it's not amnesty. The Boston Herald in a recent editorial (which I cannot find at the moment) claimed that "amnesty" means "an overlooking" and that if illegal aliens were subject to a fine, that certainly would not be an amnesty.

But that misses the point; we don't want them punished, per se, we want them deported. It is not about getting our pound of flesh, it is about protecting our borders.

This particular point is not what he brings up, but it is of a piece with his blog post. Read the post.

That is all.

Tell Sean Hannity and Mark Levin "No Amnesty!"

Update: You will need to contact Rush as well, and tell him not to give in to Rubio.

Sean Hannity and Mark Levin have recently gone soft on immigration; Hannity is "evolving" on the issue and Mark Levin agrees with Marco Rubio that we already have de facto amnesty, so why not make it official?

Obviously, this is unacceptable.

Please contact the Sean Hannity and Mark Levin shows and tell them that (a) anything that allows illegal aliens to stay here legally is amnesty, regardless of what labels they put on it, (b) amnestying illegal aliens will not significantly increase the GOP share of the Latino vote, and (c) we need to fight to end the non-enforcement of current laws, not to give in to it.

That is all.

Liberalism and Gun Ownership

Via Baloo, I found an excellent article summarizing the liberal attitude toward guns.

Money quotes:

"Nonetheless, Leftists oppose guns at a primal level because they provide a way for citizens to exercise power without going through their managerial state."

"Make no mistake – the horror stories from Britain of robbers suing homeowners for attacking them is not a system out of control. It’s a system operating precisely as it was designed to."

"Therefore, the only freedoms that are allowed are ones that further “enjoyment.” There’s a reason why Prohibition of alcohol has become unthinkable even as prohibition of guns is now debated."

The March of Sexual Liberation

Update: More on this from Rush Limbaugh and National Review.

In this article about how to deal with pedophilia (or, in English, paedophilia), there are some suggestions that make sense (e.g. trying to help people with pedophilic desires not act on them).

However, also mentioned in the article is the people who are arguing for pedophilia's normalization. And really, in a modern sexually liberated society, why not? The entire concept of sexual morality for a liberal revolves around consent. Not that I am saying that consent is not necessary for sex to be licit. However, the sexual liberal also argues that consent is sufficient, and that consensual sexual relations can never be immoral.

That is the entirety of the liberal test for whether or not sex is licit. This means that any sex they feel uncomfortable with they simply define as non-consensual in order to justify their sudden bout of atypical puritanism. It gives them cover for the unprincipled exceptions they make to their liberation. This covers pedophilic sex, bestiality, and to some extent any moral issues they may have with adultery (essentially adultery is bad because it lacks a third party consent, that is, it violates the agreement made with the spouse - of course, I don't think that most liberals argue from this that adultery needs to have any practical legal consequences, e.g. in the terms of a divorce or custody settlement; and of course, if the adultery is agreed upon, e.g. swinging, it is fine).

Still, ultimately, other than forcible rape, I don't see how this can stand. Condemning bestiality on the grounds of consent is ludicrous when we do not require consent for forcible breeding of livestock or for killing and eating them. Without conservative concepts that make bestiality wrong because it is a total perversion of the purposes and practice of sex, it must now be accepted as another form of pleasure-seeking condoned by the primacy of hedonism.

Even for pedophilia, denying children the autonomy to make sexual decisions flies in the face of liberal doctrine regarding sexuality. Unless you look at sex as something that is dangerous, and that if not used correctly becomes incredibly socially corrosive, the concept that we must protect people who are not old enough to appreciate their decision from getting sexually involved is rather ridiculous. It is the position that would be labeled "sex-negative" by sexual liberationists in any other context.

In the article, one comment is telling:

"The reason a child cannot give informed consent is that a child cannot know what is being asked of them. They cannot fully understand the nature of a sex act, not its possible consequences, nor its social significance. "

What a sex-negative attitude!

On the other hand, how true - but can sexual liberationists argue this truth much longer, or will the weight of their philosophy crush it?

That is all.

What to Do About School Shootings

How about not much? There are so few school shootings and so few people killed this way that I question the need to create any large-scale proposals in order to stop the killing. I think that allowing some teachers to be armed would not be a bad thing, but ultimately, policies should not be determined by vanishingly rare events, unless they would produce a societal catastrophe (e.g. something along the lines of a major city getting destroyed by a bomb). That is all.

Dreaming of a White Christmas Tree

Here's a picture of my Christmas tree, in the light and in the dark. If you had asked me when I was little, I could not have imagined other than a green Christmas tree. Then, in 2006, I saw a white tree with blue lights and it caught my eye. So I bought one, covered it with blue and silver, and wrapped a number of boxes to use as fake presents for decoration (I lived on my own but celebrated Christmas at my parents' house, so there would be no real presents under my tree). I have used it on and off since then. So here it is. That is all.

Thoughts on Susan Rice

Ultimately, from a policy standpoint, it doesn't matter much. But I am glad that she dropped out, because for her to be nominated after the Ben-Ghazi incident would basically cement that this administration can get away with absolutely anything, and that being black and female insulates you from any mistakes. In short, it isn't much of a victory, but it is the avoidance of an intolerable loss. What do I think about Kerry for Secretary of State? He would not be my choice, but I don't know that we could get much better under Obama, and I doubt that the GOP has anything to gain, either policy-wise or politics-wise, by opposing him. He isn't a completely offensive choice in the way that Susan "Cover-Up" Rice is. That is all.

Thoughts on Jovan Belcher

I sort of like the animated series The Boondocks (I never read the comic strip much, so I am primarily qualified only to comment on the series). It shows a high level of self-awareness as to the problems of today's black culture, and is surprisingly less mean-spirited toward whites than one might expect (and in many cases, whites are satirized largely as SWPLs or as shallow rather than as racist).

I thought that this clip from the show probably offers actual insight into the process that likely fueled Jovan Belcher's murder-suicide.

I suppose one could be offended by dealing with a stupid, senseless murder like this using humor, but I think that some of the best humor comes from a sense of bitterness and anger at things that are just wrong; and the humor used in this piece is, I think, very appropriate to the situation. That is all.
