Prayer for the Day

LORD Jesus, loving God the Son, God the Father through God the Son, please forgive my sins and the sins of our nation. Please give me the peace to recharge through this Congressional recess, and the wisdom to fight the battles that You want me to fight the way you want me to fight them. Please help me to know what is right and what would would be compromising my principles. Please God, pour Your Spirit out upon the land, and cause men to repent and seek You.

Please strengthen the resolve of John Boehner not to let the Senate Bill pass, and please strengthen the resolve of the House to focus on enforcement. Help us to stop the hatred of the historical American nation without resorting to hatred of others, and help us to find a way to remove the illegal alien presence with compassion; please help us to show that compassion does not require the abrogation of the rule of law and that enforcement is not hateful.

Help us, God, as a nation and as individuals to conquer our collective addiction to, and obsession with, fornication and lust. Help us to find ways to speak truth in love and not to hate, but not to deny the standards set by Your word, and explained by the Word become flesh.

God, help us to seek you in all three ways you exist, as Father, as Son, and as Holy Spirit.
