John Derbyshire makes an interesting comparison of Ralph Peter's recent trip to Iraq with the "three-week sinologists" who went to China and were subjected to propaganda "education" by their Chinese "interpreters and guides" who were actually with the secret police.
Although he slightly hints at it, Derbyshire does not, however, ask the most important question: Is Peters comparable to the "three-week sinologist," or to the "interpreters and guides?" That is, has he been snookered by the propaganda, or is he a willing purveyor of propaganda?
That is all.
