Fred Kaplan points out how non-answer Rumsfeld's answers before the Senate appropriations committee were. He also discusses how inadequate the Senators' answers were.
Me? When Rumsfeld said:
"The plan is to prevent a civil war and, to the extent one were to occur, to have the Iraqi security forces deal with it, to the extent they are able to."
My first thought was: "That's good. Rumsfeld is actually considering the possibility that a rosy scenario won't take place."
Good grief, my standards are getting so low.
That is all.
