It appears that both U.S. and total coalition fatalities in Afghanistan are already on track to meet last year's number.
Meanwhile, both hostile and non-hostile coalition fatalities in Iraq are up significantly. Last month at this time (i.e. March 6), there had been 4 hostile and 2 non-hostile fatalities. This month there have already 11 hostile and 6 non-hostile, about 3 times as many. Perhaps my prediction of a lull followed by an increase in casualties starting in March was not so much wrong as it was one month premature.
